If we build it, they will come – and TDS is building it.
Dairy industry growth in Dodge City, KS, spurs TDS expansion into new location
Over the last ten years, land, feed, and labor availability have turned Western Kansas into a hub for large dairies relocating from other states. Over the last five years, TDS has carefully positioned their locations nearest to the major dairy hotspots in the West. So naturally, TDS will be there to help build it as dairy continues to thrive in the Dodge City area.
“I’ve got dairymen here in California looking at adding locations out in Kansas, and they want to bring us along,” says Ryan Calistro, TDS CCO and Partner. “It’s a fitting progression for us, both keeping up and getting ahead of the direction the industry is going – which has been our goal from the start.”
Calistro is confident that this new location will help continue to fuel the growth of the dairy industry in the Dodge City area. The TDS Construction division specializes in new dairies and has grown rapidly since officially launching the TDS brand in fall of 2020. Within the last year, 55 new employees have joined the ranks of the dairy building experts, and there’s a demand for more. The Dodge City location will exemplify TDS’s construction expertise, focusing on building and serving new dairies as the needs arise.
TDS also cites a forward-thinking customer base and increase in milk production and number of cows in Kansas as motivation for this strategic move. “Sustainability is huge,” Calistro says, “for dairymen, dairy businesses, consumers, and for TDS. We see the opportunity to enable dairy producers to become leaders in sustainable food production.”
