Committed to the future of dairy

In 1998, the Rocha family purchased Modesto Dairy Supply, a company focused on selling consumable and farm supplies to dairy producers in Northern California. Rocha’s strength being on the equipment side, he took MDS from a small operation to a dairy service business with a foundation built on the Delaval offering.

This foundation allowed the company to grow through the 2000s in north central CA until Ron’s son, Ryan Calistro, took over in 2009. With a vision to expand and better serve the dairy industry, Ryan started with a focus on building the foundation to position MDS for growth.

In 2012, the company expanded with the acquisition of an Arizona dealership, and built the business based on great service, caring more, and working harder for dairy producers. Large installs became a more consistent offering when Jake Dewitt became a partner in 2016, and with a consistent customer-first mindset, MDS became the largest dealership in North America.

In 2020, Modesto Dairy Solutions teamed up with TDS to better support the needs of dairies by establishing a centralized model where combined efforts could bring more efficiency to support a sustainable future for our customers.

After a few more years of growth, the next opportunity presented itself. TDSG was formed in 2023 and acquired the Arizona, California and Idaho locations of TDS with a focus on improving the offering in these markets.

Standard Nutrition Company, the majority owner in TDSG, plans to take what has been established as a strong dairy equipment provider to the next level. With the rapid growth and demands of the industry, leaning on an established organization such as Standard, along with its subsidiaries such as Dairy Specialists, provides the network needed to take the business forward.

As technology advances and external pressures increase, TDSG helps dairy producers enhance their operations through the use of robotic milking and other advanced technologies and services.

Whether that’s new feeding technology, milking technology, or sustainable solutions for the dairy industry involving alternative power sources or anaerobic digesters, we are evaluating what resources can make an impact on a dairy’s operations. We have a passion for the dairy industry and helping producers succeed. With our supplier network and relationship with Standard Nutrition Company, we are well-positioned to continue to be a part of that success into the future.

We see the opportunity to enable dairy producers to become leaders in sustainable food production.

By integrating technology, equipment, strategic expertise, and services in one company we can help dairy producers transform their operations, no matter the size.

By developing experienced staff at locations near producers, we can ensure seamless service.

By building deep relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, processors, and producers, we can anticipate trends, pioneer new technologies and maximize opportunities for the dairy industry.

TDSG is poised to build a strong network of dairy distributors and dealers by leveraging relationships with large dairy equipment providers for the United States.

This scale will enable more access to the best manufacturers, increased buying power, access to training, and technology for more large-scale projects. Governments across the globe are developing new legislation on waste and energy management on farms from Climate Change Acts.

The agriculture industry will be looking for solutions and the expertise to design, build, manage and implement on their behalf. TDSG is pioneering innovative and sustainable solutions for the dairy industry and working directly with these suppliers on sales, service, and installation.
